Points to Consider When Producing Bidirectional Hunan Steel-Plastic Geogrids

Release date:

2020-10-28

1. Production of the板材 (sheets). The quality of the板材 directly influences the performance of the bidirectional Hunan Yiyang steel-plastic geogrids. To ensure proper plasticization of the resin, a highly efficient single-screw extruder with a screw diameter of Φ150 mm should be used. The produced sheets will have a width ranging from 1.0 to 2.0 meters and a thickness of 2 to 5 mm. The surface must be smooth and free of bubbles, delamination, or impurities, with a permissible thickness tolerance of ±0.2 mm. Hunan Yiyang Steel-Plastic Geogrid Material selection and matching during production

Two-way Hunan Yiyang Steel-Plastic Geogrid The choice of materials directly affects the performance of geogrid products. Therefore, the materials must exhibit excellent impact toughness and strong environmental resistance, ensuring consistent performance even under long-term use conditions. To meet these requirements, we utilize HDPE and PP. Additionally, considering regional and environmental differences, as well as specific project needs, we offer this bidirectional product. Hunan Yiyang Steel-Plastic Geogrid Production mainly involves two formulations.

1. Using HDPE as the primary raw material and adding rubber as a toughening modifier helps enhance HDPE's resistance to environmental stress cracking. Products manufactured with this formulation exhibit excellent low-temperature performance, making them suitable for use in vast, expansive regions—particularly well-suited for China’s Northwest and Northeast areas.

2. Using PP as the main raw material and adding an antioxidant to enhance PP's resistance to thermal aging, the geogrid products manufactured with this formulation can be used in temperatures ranging from -23°C to 70°C.

II. Two-way Hunan Yiyang Steel-Plastic Geogrid Key Points for Process Quality Control in Production

1. Production of the板材 (sheets). The quality of the板材 directly affects the performance of the bidirectional Hunan Yiyang steel-plastic geogrids.

2. Mesh hole processing: A stepping-type, fully automatic precision punching machine is used. The punching machine’s frequency must be synchronized with the stretching speed of the plate production, ensuring continuous, automated punching. Typically, the diameter of the plastic grid mesh holes ranges from Φ8 to Φ15 mm, with hole spacing kept below 20 mm. It is essential that the edges of the formed holes are smooth and free of burrs, guaranteeing smooth progress during the subsequent stretching process.

3. Temperature Control: Preheating temperature is critical for ensuring uniform dimensions of the tensile geogrid, as it is closely linked to the production speed. Typically, when stretching HDPE sheets, the temperature is maintained between 140°C and 160°C. Given the narrow allowable temperature tolerance, the heating method becomes particularly important. Commonly, water is used as the heating medium—electric heaters raise the water to the specified temperature—allowing the sheets to achieve even heat distribution as they pass through a preheating water tank. Afterward, the sheets are drawn into elongated, elliptical-shaped geogrids.
