Jinyi Railway

The newly constructed Yiwu–Jinhua Railway begins at the Hangzhou-Wenzhou yard of Yiwu Station, with its left and right tracks diverging from there. The left track crosses over the mainline of the existing Hangzhou-Wenzhou Railway before running parallel to the right track into the Wufengshan Tunnel. After exiting the tunnel, the entire line closely follows the northern side of the Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway. In the Yiwu section, the railway passes beneath the Hangzhou-Wenzhou Railway twice and intersects with urban roads twice—once under Xuefeng West Road and once over Dongxiao Highway. Near Donghua Street in the Jinyi Metropolitan New Area, a new Jinyi Station is established, seamlessly connecting with the under-construction Jinyi East Rail Transit Station on Donghua Street for easy transfers. Finally, just east of Tangya Station, the railway crosses over the Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway and merges directly into the existing Shanghai-Kunming Railway line.

Detailed description

The newly constructed Yiwu-Jinhua Railway begins at the Hangzhou-Wenzhou yard of Yiwu Station, with its left and right tracks diverging from there. The left track crosses over the mainline of the existing Hangzhou-Wenzhou Railway before running parallel to the right track into the Wufengshan Tunnel. After exiting the tunnel, the entire railway alignment closely follows the northern side of the Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway. In the Yiwu section, the line passes beneath the Hangzhou-Wenzhou Railway twice and intersects with urban roads twice—once under Xuefeng West Road and once over Dongxiao Highway. Near Donghua Street in the JinYi Metropolitan New Area, a new JinYi Station is established, seamlessly connecting with the under-construction JinYi East Rail Transit Station at Donghua Street for easy transfers. Finally, after leaving the station, the railway crosses over the Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway and connects directly to the existing Shanghai-Kunming Railway at the eastern end of Tangya Station.

This section of the line begins at Yiwu Station and extends to the eastern end of the Yijin Extra-Large Bridge at JinYi Station, with a total length of 23.001 km (including the Hangzhou-Wenzhou jointly constructed section: the left track is 2.447 km long, while the right track measures 1.814 km). Additionally, five new double-track bridges totaling 15.35 km have been built, along with two new single-track bridges spanning 1.251 km, and one new double-track tunnel measuring 2.864 km in length.
