Detailed description

The Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway, commonly known as the Yu-Kun High-Speed Railway, also referred to as the Yu-Kun Passenger Dedicated Line or Yu-Kun Passenger Rail, is a high-speed rail line in China connecting Chongqing Municipality with Kunming City in Yunnan Province. It forms a key segment of the "Beijing-Kunming Corridor," one of the eight north-south and eight east-west high-speed railway main corridors outlined in the revised 2016 version of China's Medium- and Long-Term Railway Network Plan. The railway route passes through Chongqing Municipality, Sichuan Province, Guizhou Province, and Yunnan Province.

The Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway starts at Chongqing West Station, passing through Chongqing Municipality, Sichuan Province, Guizhou Province, and Yunnan Province before connecting to Kunming South Station. The total length of the line is approximately 700 kilometers, with a designed speed of 350 km/h. Construction is divided into three sections: the Chongqing-Yibin section (from Chongqing West to Yibin, which began operations on September 29, 2024), the Sichuan-Yunnan section (from Yibin to Yanzininan), and the Yunnan section (from Yanzininan to Kunming South Station).
